Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
This policy explains how Clicker – Remote & Cast to TV (“Clicker”, “the app”) handles information. The app is published by Highbrow Marketing Limited (“Sidefolk”, “we”), Unit 4, 56 Priestley Drive, Bucklands Beach, Auckland 2014, New Zealand.
In short: Clicker has no accounts and we don't run servers that collect your data. What you do in the app stays on your phone and your home network. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, and Clicker Pro is sold through Google Play with RevenueCat checking purchases; both receive some information, as described below.
Information that stays on your device
- Your TVs and pairing. Clicker looks for TVs on your Wi-Fi network and talks to them directly. The pairing certificate and the list of your TVs are stored only on your phone.
- Browsing in the Cast tab. Web pages load directly from the websites you visit. Your history and bookmarks are stored only on your phone.
- Photos, videos and music. If you allow access, Clicker reads the files you choose so it can play them on your TV. They are sent over your home network to your TV, not to us.
- Screen mirroring. When you start mirroring, your screen is sent over your home network to your TV only.
- Diagnostic log. Clicker keeps a short technical log on your phone (for example, whether a connection to your TV worked) for up to three days. It is sent to us only if you choose to share it from Settings.
Microphone
If you use voice search, Clicker records audio only while voice search is active and sends it to your TV, which handles the search (on Google TV, through Google). We don't receive or store your voice.
Information shared with third parties
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Clicker shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, general location, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), Clicker asks for your consent using Google's consent tool, and you can change your choice later. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat)
If you buy Clicker Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we never see your card or billing details. To confirm your purchase and unlock Pro, Clicker uses RevenueCat, which receives a random app user ID, your purchase receipt and basic device information. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Casting (Google Cast)
When you cast to a Chromecast or Google TV, Clicker uses Google Cast, which is part of Google Play services on your phone. The address of the video you cast is sent to your TV so it can play it.
Subtitles (OpenSubtitles)
If you search for subtitles, Clicker sends the video's title or file details to OpenSubtitles.com to find matching subtitles. See the OpenSubtitles privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't require an account or sign-in.
- We don't use analytics or tracking tools of our own.
Children
Clicker is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
You can deny or remove the app's permissions (microphone, photos and videos) at any time in your phone's settings; the related features stop working, but the rest of the app keeps working. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your phone. Under New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 and other laws that apply to you, you can ask us about any personal information we hold about you; since the app doesn't send us your data, that is normally none, apart from emails you send us.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above.
